We are in the business of creating a:

MON ·AR· CHY

A monarch, such as a king or queen, rules a kingdom or empire. In an absolute monarchy, power is unlimited.

The System isn’t broken

“The system isn’t broken” is a series of conversations with early childhood policy experts. Hosted by Patrick MacFarlane, our podcast takes listeners beyond the surface level conversations to understand why early care and education programs fail Black children, families, and child care providers. “The System Isn’t Broken” was created to add context to the anti-racism conversation in the early childhood policy space. For policy advocates, legislative staff, elected officials, and child development professionals, this podcast is designed to challenge your thinking about the system, and who it is designed to serve. Listen everywhere podcasts are available.

Dear Child people may hate you… Price: $14.99

Written by our agency’s Founder and CEO, Savannah Walker, and beautifully illustrated by artist, Tyra Chantel. Dear Child, People May Hate You… is meant to be a conversation tool for parents and educators to use with their children to have open and honest discussions about hate in this world. Discussing trivial topics like racism and prejudice doesn’t have to be daunting thanks to this book. It breaks down the nuisances surrounding hate and ignorance, and puts into a context that children can easily digest. This children’s book is truly a love letter to our nation’s children and will hopefully change the world. Perfect for ages 0-12yrs..

Our Purpose

Monarch Noir Industries was founded with the intent to use every form of media to amplify marginalized and often overlooked voices. Storytelling is our power. If we are to create monarchs we need to wield their stories. Art is meant to disrupt, inspire, and reflect the times in which it was created and that’s what we intend to do.

Our Services

publishing

The power of words has been proven time and time again. We want to empower marginalized and often overlooked voices. Your stories and experiences matter. Turn your hurt, pain, joy, or happiness into literature, and let us do the rest.

Multimedia Content

We support video, audio, text, and photography, individually or in combination. That means if you need your music video produced, wedding covered, or you would like to craft a press release to announce start of your business - we are a one stop shop that can get it done. We connect you to gifted freelance artist that will work diligently to capture any and every event you need.

Podcasting

Podcasting is an emerging form of media that has made tremendous waves in the information consumption landscape, especially within the past five years. The New York Times reported that more than half the people in the United States have listened to one, and nearly one out of three people listen to at least one podcast every month. It’s not too late to break through in this field.

Creating Social Change

Monarch Noir Industries is a growing media powerhouse that prides itself on magnifying underrepresented and disparaged voices. However, in order to bring in a new monarchy we need to shed light on the challenges that plague our community. We support the following issues.

62%

early childhood education

Sixty-two percent of California's children are born into low-income households and are therefore eligible for subsidized child care. However only 14% of qualifying children actually get served.

12+

high school retention

Due to inadequate access to needed services and supports, students identified with disabilities are less likely to graduate from high school than other students. As a result a 17% education gap can be witnessed between traditional and non-traditional students.

1.75x

gender equity

Transgender youth in California are more than 1.75x more likely to be taunted or mocked for their LGBTQ+ identity in comparison to cis-gender youth.

“Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society. Why? Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the divine on this planet.”

- John Lewis in Across That Bridge: Life Lessons and Visions for Change

Meet Savannah Walker, Founder and CEO

“Many people believe that changing the world requires a cataclysmic or revolutionary event. Maybe, or change is more like a ripple that causes a tsunami. That’s what Monarch Noir Industries is about. We want to create waves of art, media, and literature that benefit the lives of those who want to grow and empower others to do the same.”
